i will get back to the series on the Ephesians 1 prayer, but i’m on a song-roll right now. i’ve been trying to audio-archive my songs so i don’t lose them. here’s an old one (2004) that i just recorded this morning. it’s the voice of Jesus singing to us from the Song of Songs.
do not awaken My love till she pleases.
do not arouse her right now.
now is the time for exchanging embracing.
do not awaken My love.
this is the season of sustaining,
of increasing desire, of tasting and seeing.
this is the season of refreshing,
of stillness and knowing the sweetness I’m showing you.
do not awaken My love till she pleases.
do not arouse her right now.
now is the time for exchanging embracing.
do not awaken My love.
This is the season of arising
Of hiding and seeking, of searching and finding
This is the season of apprehending
Of holding onto love to never release again
can you feel My left hand underneath your sweet head?
can you feel My right hand as it embraces you?
can you read My lips? can you feel My kiss?
can you receive this divine adoration?
This is the season of assuring
Of sealing two hearts that are now as one beating
This is the season of agreeing
To jealously guarding the flame that is now burning
do not awaken My love till she pleases.
do not arouse her right now.
now is the time for exchanging embracing.
do not awaken My love.

“My love” in this song–is this the beloved?

Sarah, this song is written from Jesus’ perspective. He is singing over us, His Bride. So, we are His “love” in the story. it comes from a theme repeated in the Song of Songs (Song of Solomon 2:7, Song of Solomon 3:5, Song of Solomon 8:4.) Jesus is really guarding us in the secret place, and telling others not to disturb us, not to pull us away from that time of focus. There is a time to be set apart with the Lord, and there is a time to be out among His people. Praise God that He is the primary initiator and guardian of those times!
